why ergonomic assessments matter
In today’s fast-paced work environment, taking a thoughtful approach to ergonomics is more than a wise choice—it’s essential. Here’s what an Ergonomic Assessment program from Action OHS Consulting brings to your team:
- Reduced Risk of Injuries: By minimising work-related injuries, you're promoting a safer work environment and preventing Workers Compensation claims, workers compensation insurance costs and improving overall employee morale.
- Cost Savings: With fewer injuries, you can expect a decrease in associated costs, such as Workers Compensation claims and paid sick leave.
- Boost Team Morale: A comfortable workspace is a happier one, leading to greater job satisfaction.
- Enhanced Productivity: Comfortable workstations and a safe working environment mean fewer distractions and more efficient work - maximising performance.
- Demonstrated Compliance: Through provision and maintenance of a safe system or work and workplace; identifying opportunities for the elimination of hazardous manual handling; providing information, instruction and training to your workers and eliminating or reducing exposure to hazards.
Our tailored ergonomic assessment services
Our tailored ergonomic services are:
Full Ergonomic Assessment
Conducted by an allied health professional and ideal for all individuals. We can also tailor to workers with a specific medical diagnosis or pre-existing condition. These in-depth consultations last between 45 and 60 minutes.
Proactive Ergonomic Assessments
Informative sessions lasting 15 minutes, focusing on equipping workers with the skills they need for ergonomic workstation setup and maintenance.
Home OHS and Workstation Ergonomic Assessments
Designed for remote workers, starting with a photo review, measurement of key metrics and determination of the best fit for the worker.
During an assessment, we typically discuss the following elements:
- Posture.
- Movement.
- Lighting.
- Office chair adjustment.
- Limb alignment with workstation.
- Desk layout.
- Monitor height for single or multiple screens.
- Storage.
- Discuss the layout of the keyboard and mouse.
- Document and/or tablet handling.
When completing an ergonomic assessment, our consultants will review each parameter individually. The focus will be on practical guidance for each individual to set up and maintain comfort. A report will be generated at the end of the assessment and provided to the client and individual following the assessment.
Take advantage of our additional expert services that go beyond ergonomics assessments. Improve workplace health and efficiency by tapping into specialised knowledge that goes beyond the basics.
In person training: Our 45-minute ergonomic training helps workers understand and maintain essential postural standards.
Online training: Customised web-based modules are available for further learning and reinforcement.
All workers should complete an ergonomic assessment to ensure that their computer workstation is designed to minimise discomfort and prevent injuries during the workday.
